Halo Infinite Beta: How To Skip Tiers After Buying The Premium Battle Pass | 25 Free Levels Guide

November 16, 2021 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Missing your free Tier Skips? Here’s how to find (and use) XP Grants.

If you purchased the Premium Battle Pass in Halo Infinite, you’re probably wondering where your 25 Free Levels are. After purchasing the Premium Battle Pass Bundle, instead of automatically applying the boosts and instantly skipping tiers up to 25 Battle Pass levels, you’re left with nothing. This is a pretty weird choice by 343 Industries. Instead of just giving you the levels, you have to manually apply your XP Grants. We’ll walk you through the process below. Its very simple, but you’re perplexed why these extra steps are even required, we don’t blame you one bit.

Halo Infinite is out now in Open Beta, almost a month before the full Dec. 8th 2021 release date. In a release period crowded by Battlefield and Call of Duty, Halo feels like a revelation — old-school, floaty, with big burly energy-shielded men unloading ridiculous amounts of bullets into each other, fighting for just a single solitary kill. It feels great getting back into Halo, and if you’re aiming to skip those levels after purchasing the Premium Battle Pass, you’ll absolutely need to know how XP Grants work.

The Premium Battle Pass costs $10, and comes with 100 XP Grants, which are separate from XP Boosts. Here’s how to access them.

How To Apply XP Grants | Gaining Your 25 Free Levels

If you purchased the Premium Battle Pass, you’ll see that the description states you’ll get 25 Free Level Tier Skips — as in, you’ll earn enough XP instantly to gain 25 levels. There are 1-100 levels in the Season 1 Battle Pass, and you won’t get any benefits automatically. You might think that you’re missing out on your free levels, or that something has gone wrong.

Instead of applying +25 Levels automatically, you’ll need to apply the XP Grants manually. By purchasing the Premium Battle Pass, you’ll be given 100 XP Grants, which are enough to skip 25 levels. You can go from Level 1 to Level 25 instantly.

  • How To Get Your +25 Tier Skips: In the Multiplayer menu, access Battle Pass -> Boosts -> XP Grants
    • You’ll have 100 XP Grants. Use all 100 to gain +25 Levels.

Some players are reporting that their XP Grants selection is greyed out — if this happens to you, restart Halo Infinite or reset your internet connection. It may take a moment for Halo Infinite to reconnect and confirm that you’ve purchased the Premium Pass. The game is getting crushed under tens of thousands of players currently, so some server functions may be slow.

Just remember that you have 100 Battle Pass Levels to earn, so you may want to save those XP Grants for the future. Right now, players are struggling with extremely low XP rewards given out by Daily / Weekly Challenges. The only way to earn Battle Pass XP (for now) is by completing Daily / Weekly Challenges, and some players are reporting taking up to 4~ hours of constant play just to gain one or two levels. You don’t earn XP for completing matches. We’ll see how long this change lasts. Until then, these XP Grants are extremely precious.
