#6 Biomutant

  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: 2020

In Biomutant, players take the role of a raccoon-like creature that must save the world. With a poisonous oil springing up from the ground, most of the world is quickly infected and dying off. This also has spread to the Tree of Life, a giant tree that brings life to the whole world. Players must go to each of the six roots of the Tree of Life and stop the oil and defeat each boss. Furthermore, the game will be tossing players several decisions that will affect the overall narrative storyline. Likewise, the choices you make will ultimately alter the world itself. Developers have stated that the entire world is open for players to explore with only sections blocked, forcing players to progress the narrative in order to gather the items required to access past unreachable areas.

Biomutant is a game that quite a few players were interested in picking up. Initially, the title was set to launch last year however, things got shifted around and it’s looking like a release sometime this year. More or less we’re waiting for that release date announcement. Back in February of this year, a tweet from the official Biomutant Twitter account confirmed that the development team is still working on the title, but are not confident yet on giving a launch date.

#5 Wasteland 3

  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: August 28, 2020

Wasteland first got its start quite a while ago back in 1988 for the PC by developers Interplay Productions and while the game was supposed to receive sequels, the developers never progressed any further after the original installment. With that said, after a few years, we finally got a sequel with Wasteland 2 from developers inXile Entertainment and now Wasteland 3 is set to launch in 2020.

Wasteland 3 takes place in the frozen land of Colorado where gamers step into the shoes of the last surviving member of a Ranger Squad. With turn-based combat, gamers can freely explore the world and progress alone or with the help of a friend thanks to the title featuring both synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer. Players can expect to be presented with story arcs featuring difficult moral choices as well and at the time of writing this description, we don’t have very long of a wait to endure now. The game is set to come out on August 28, 2020, for both PC and consoles.
