#4 Valorant
Riot Games is mainly known for its hit MOBA title, League of Legends. The game has managed to bring in a massive audience for several years now, however, the studio was interested in diving into other game genres. One of those happens to be a competitive team-based shooter which is called Valorant. This is a fast-paced shooter that most have compared to CSGO meets Overwatch. At the moment, the game is only featured on the PC platform, although the development team has shown some interest in porting the title over to the console platforms later on.
Valorant right now is new and we’re sure over a good amount of time, we’ll see additional game modes, characters, and maps added into the mix. Right now, the game puts two teams against each other with the entire game consisting of a best of 7 rounds. It’s highly competitive as a FPS with a tight corridor filled map, the main way of playing is going slow, checking corners, working with your team, and aiming your shots perfectly. As mentioned, this game also features some gameplay similar to Overwatch in that the roster is filled with heroes. Each hero has their own unique abilities although the powers are more or less a means to complement the main FPS style of gameplay such as raising a wall barrier to keep players from knowing just where exactly your team is on the other side.
#3 Hyper Scape
Ubisoft has brought out their own take on the battle royale genre with Hyper Scape a title that has entered open beta although the full launch has yet to be determined. Still, from what we’ve seen, this is a really fast first-person battle royale shooter that’s also team-based. In this game, players are dropped into a large futuristic city where random sections of the city will get removed to close players into an area of the map until there is only one team left.
There’s the typical range of different guns along with a variety of power-ups such as casting a large wall or transforming into a ball that not only protects you from enemy fire but will also allow players to quickly bounce away from danger. However, what makes this game stand out compared to the rest is how much of a focus the development team has put on streaming. Twitch is highly integrated into the gameplay as viewers will get to vote on different in-game events. So far this ranges from extra health supplies, infinite ammo, to low gravity. The random element not only makes it a surprise for gamers within the match but a bit more interactive to the community watching their favorite streamers play the game.
