Get premonitions of your imminent death, or get clues showing how you can survive in Man of Medan with these 13 Framed Picture collectible locations. There are two types of collectibles in Man of Medan, but the framed pictures are easily the more useful of the two — each Framed Picture you collect appears in your gallery, and each one gives you a small clue.
White-Framed pictures give you clues, showing how you might survive in future situations. Black-Framed pictures are the opposite, showing how you might die in the future. They’re all useful, and if you don’t want to spoil yourself, they’re the best in-game clues you’ll find to get everyone out of this story alive.
Of course, you can just cheat and use our Man of Medan ending guide to save all your friends. It’s a tricky road, so be prepared to read a whole lot.
All Framed Pictures | Collectible Locations Guide
For finding all 13 Framed Picture collectibles, you’ll earn three achievements / trophies:
- Ghost Ships A Just A Myth, Right?: Find all pictures.
- Quite A Lot Of Deaths That Night: Find all the black-framed pictures.
- Possible Futures: Find all the white-framed pictures.
Some framed pictures can only be found in specific chapters or when completing certain runs. It’s best to keep everyone alive to check out the most chapters.
White-Framed Picture #1: Chapter: Wreck – When you’re playing as Alex on the ship, go down into the lower deck and you’ll find the first picture on the wall.
Black-Framed Picture #1: Chapter: Uninvited Guests – As Fliss, go down into the lower deck of the ship and open the door that only the Captain can access. The picture is right inside.
Black-Framed Picture #2: Chapter: Uninvited Guests – While diving into the plane wreck, look down at the bottom-corner of a doorway. It’s ahead right when you first enter the wreckage.
Black-Framed Picture #3: Chapter: An Escape – While looking for an escape route, enter the bunk room filled with beds. Down the path lined with beds, away from the table, you’ll find this picture on the wall.
Black-Framed Picture #4: Chapter: Caskets – Leaving the kitchen, go to the opposite wall from the entrance into the next room to find another hanging picture.
White-Framed Picture #2: Chapter: Danny – In this chapter, Danny the pirate will lead you through the ship. You’ll pass the frame, but Danny will stop you from touching it. If you continue ahead slightly, Danny will leave you, letting you go back and collect this picture.
White-Framed Picture #3: Chapter: Finding Friends – This chapter can only be accessed if Brad isn’t found in Chapter: Intrusion. After jumping through the hole, enter the room on the right once you land to find a picture frame.
White-Framed Picture #4: Chapter: Ritual – At the ballroom, go to the backroom on the opposite end. There’s a lever and a picture frame to find inside.
White-Framed Picture #5: Chapter: Glamor Girl – This chapter can only be accessed if Conrad is captured with the group, and Brad / Fliss don’t recognize each other in the Ballroom. In the hallway, go to the first room on the left.
Black-Framed Picture #5: Chapter: Distress Signal – This one is hard to miss. In the control room at the top of the ship, you’ll have to pass directly by this picture frame.
White-Framed Picture #6: Chapter: Depths – While searching for the generator, stop before reaching the rebreather and look for an optional path on the right. The picture is down this path in a locker.
Gold-Framed Picture #1: Chapter: Olson – This chapter can be missed. To experience it, you need to send Julia and Alex to look for the generator, and Brad needs to abandon Fliss. Through the bunk room, go through the door to the right of the lockers and you’ll be able to see the gold-framed picture at the end of the hallway.
Black-Framed Picture #6: Chapter: Glamor Girl – This collectible can only be collected in Glamor Girl if you’re playing the Curator’s Cut Mode or in Shared Story Mode. To get this, you need to fulfill the following conditions: Brad isn’t captured by the pirates, Conrad is still alive and captured. Brad must get the gasmask in ‘Finding Friends’ and Fliss must get fresh air in ‘Ritual’ — and finally Fliss and Brad have to survive. You have to play as Fliss when Fliss and Brad are together in the ‘Glamor Girl’ chapter. While exploring as Fliss, you’ll find a door that can only be opened with Brad’s help. Once the door is open, you can collect the final collectible.
