#5 Watch Dogs Legion

Watch Dogs has been a popular franchise from Ubisoft and in 2020 we will get a third main installment. Watch Dogs Legion is the next chapter to this franchise and it will put players onto the streets of London. A new regime has taken authority of the United Kingdom and it’s DedSec’s goal to liberate the people from tyranny. However, with this next main installment, there is one big change in terms of gameplay. While the last two installments mainly focused on a single character for players to progress the story with, Watch Dogs Legion will focus on a variety of characters and a cast that will be revolving throughout the entire narrative. Best of all, you can decide who is part of that cast during the campaign.
As mentioned, Watch Dogs Legion is focused on a variety of characters. This third-person video game will put players into the role of a random character who can recruit other civilians to join DedSec. The best way to describe this feature is by the demo footage shown off from Ubisoft at E3 2019. The footage showcased a man who is running into a roadblock with drones and to progress, he will require the use of a drone hacker. From there it becomes a goal to track down a civilian with the particular useful drone hacking skill and recruit the person into DedSec.
Ubisoft has a ton of characters to recruit and they will come with a variety of attributes that may prove to be useful during your campaign. What may come to a surprise is that not all of these characters will make it through the entire journey. It seems that each character is susceptible to getting killed and once deceased that character becomes no longer a part of the game. Players are simply swapped to a different recruit and must push forward.
As for gameplay, this is still a third-person action-adventure title with plenty of stealth. Players can decide to go through a mission with brute strength, opt for a more traditional stealth approach or simply use some advanced gadgetry to accomplish the goals set in front of you.
#4 Final Fantasy VII Remake

For years, fans have been asking Square Enix to develop a remake for Final Fantasy VII. The seventh mainline installment to the franchise has been a massive cherished title and one that could use a remake. Visually, the graphics are not the cleanest to look at which gave a reason for so many fans to speak up over the remake interest. Announced several years ago at this point, Square Enix is giving fans what they want in 2020. Once again, fans will be following Cloud as he meets new friends and fight against an evil corporation Shinra.
There are a few changes to the game with this remake such as the biggest being the action role-playing mechanics. Combat will no longer be the turn-based old school mechanics but instead being more fluid as players face against enemies in third-person action much like the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Thankfully, the story seems to be intact which may be the biggest reason for fans’ enjoyment with the game.
#3 Resident Evil 3

Ever since Capcom decided to go back to their roots with Resident Evil 7, fans began to rejoice to get an old school feeling survival-horror title. With that said, this wasn’t the only means to get an old school Resident Evil title. For years Capcom had offered fans the ability to enjoy a remake and remastered editions of the original Resident Evil title. After fans had pleaded for a remake for Resident Evil 2, Capcom finally caved and provided fans with a new version of Resident Evil 2.
You’re already likely aware of just how popular that video game title was and with it of course came the pleas for a Resident Evil 3 Remake. In 2020, fans will get their Resident Evil 3 remake which will likely feel and play similarly to the Resident Evil 2 remake. For those who are not already aware, Resident Evil 3 actually takes place during the same time as Resident Evil 2.
Players will be following former S.T.A.R.S operative Jill Valentine who finds herself stuck in Raccoon City when a sudden zombie infestation fills the streets. With little information to go off on, Jill must find a means to escape, but that may prove hard to pull off as on her trail is a new bioweapon called Nemesis who is hunting down all remaining S.T.A.R.S officials.
#2 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a big hit when it released originally on the Nintendo Wii U and it carried that success over to the Nintendo Switch console launch. This was another brand new installment to The Legend of Zelda franchise with a massive open world to explore, dungeons to complete and a cast of characters to meet. For some diehard Zelda fans, this became their number one pick for the best game in the series. It’s not only a beloved game for Zelda fans but an excellent open-world RPG. Now that some time has passed, it looks like we are going to get another look into that same world with the upcoming sequel.
Not that much is known really for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. Instead, this was a surprise announcement during Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct. We only got a small teaser announcement of Link and Zelda discovering a new enemy has awoken from the depths below. We don’t know if this means that the entire world has changed on the surface or if there are any additions to the map itself. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, there are no details on when the sequel will release so it very well may not launch in 2020.

Naughty Dog is finally giving us the long-awaited sequel to The Last of Us in 2020. Set five years after the events of the first game, The Last of Us Part 2 will follow Ellie who is now 19 years old living life with a community of people. While the pandemic virus is still very much a problematic threat, the new foe this time around is a cult-like group. Players will be facing against who has seemingly killed Ellie’s love interest. Now fueled by hate, Ellie is going against the odds and taking out the group one by one.
This is said to be Naughty Dog’s biggest video game title they’ve worked on yet and we’re sure there will be massive set-pieces to explore. Likewise, you’ll find that there will be several different enemy types roaming the world. If you played the previous title then you’ll hopefully find how the world has adapted over the years and what has happened to the various characters we’ve met throughout the previous journey such as the previous leading protagonist Joel. For now, it looks like we’ll get a chance to enjoy the game in early 2020.

Little Nightmares 2

Little Nightmares was such a hit when it launched back in 2017 and while the developers dodged questions about a sequel and claimed there was nothing in the works, it was finally revealed that a Little Nightmares 2 would see a release in 2020. This is still a third-person puzzle platform game with survival horror elements littered throughout. Overall, players took the role of a little girl that was trapped in a vessel filled with terrifying creatures looking to bring an early demise.
Now with the sequel, we’re looking at a narrative that takes place directly after the events of Six escaping the Maw. With the aid of another child called Mono, the pair must work together to reach a signal tower. We’re expecting much of the same type of gameplay with the upcoming sequel, which is a great thing as the first installment was quite the fun game to go through.
