#10 Tomb Raider 2
Lara Croft has a life full of adventure and exploration. She’s seeking out hidden artifacts that are tucked away behind enemy forces and supernatural beings. Over the course of her journey we’ve seen plenty of supposed cheats and exploits for the heroine, but did you know that there is a cheat that causes Lara Croft to suddenly explode? There are not too many details out in the wild as to why the developers added this cheat, but the speculations are pretty interesting. Some will say that this cheat is due to incorrectly inputting a code to get unlimited ammo while others say that it was one of the supposed cheat codes to turn Lara Croft nude in the first title. Whatever the reason, developers must have had plenty of fun trolling gamers when the second installment to Tomb Raider released where gamers would watch Lara Croft explode in several little pieces.
#9 Assassin’s Creed III Turkey
Ubisoft had plenty of little Easter Eggs in Assassin’s Creed III and one of those came through the use of an infamous cheat code. If gamers used the traditional Konami code in Assassin’s Creed III, which is up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, then the game will include a turkey set up with the traditional gear of the assassin’s. You will find this turkey assassin in the Davenport Homestead when you reach Sequence 6.
#8 007 GoldenEye
If you were enjoying video games back during the Nintendo 64 generation then you definitely know about 007 GoldenEye. This was a crucial title to own for the console as it provided hours on top of hours with free-for-all multiplayer fun. This is a first-person shooter full of iconic characters from the 007 franchise and while you have a wide assortment of weapons to choose from, gamers could make an interesting tweak. Instead of facing players against each other in normal attire, one cheat code would massively increase the head of each player. This big head cheat code was not only bizarre but something that everyone inputted at least once.
#7 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4
Tony Hawk’s line of video game titles is incredibly fun on their own. You don’t have to enjoy skateboarding as a hobby to get enjoyment of the various Tony Hawk skateboarding series, but if you start to get bored of the game there are a number of different cheat codes to skins to make it a bit more unique. One of those cheat codes allows players to turn on low gravity making every jump off a ramp slow while pushing the character further. This essentially allows players to toss in a number of impossible tricks. This cheat is not attached to any one particular video game title from the Tony Hawk lineup as its often tossed into the game with various installments.
#6 TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
Developers who brought out TimeSplitters: Future Perfect added an interesting cheat code that could be unlocked by completing a certain challenge called Cats Out of the Bag. By doing so, gamers would unlock the ability to change the weapon sounds to human imitation sounds. Instead of hearing a normal gunshot, players would instead hear a barrage of gun sounds made by a person in a sound booth. Unfortunately, the game wouldn’t allow this cheat to be included in the narrative campaign but instead would unlock as an option within the Arcade mode. Check out the video above to hear the various sound effects for each weapon.
