Judge Eyes

  • Developer: Sega
  • Publisher: Sega
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: 2019

Sega has been teasing a new IP for a while now stating that the developers who were behind the popular Yakuza series have been working on a brand new IP. This project has apparently been in the works for over three years but we’re only just now getting a look at the game. Gamers can expect Judge Eyes to release next year.

There are still plenty of details that Sega is holding away from the public at the moment but during a PlayStation Lineup Tour event, Sega unveiled Judge Eyes. The game follows a lawyer who is seeking out clues in order to get at the bottom of a crime. Being that this is the development team who was also responsible for bringing out the Yakuza series, you can expect a similar combat system.

Kingdom Hearts III
  • Developer: Square Enix
  • Publisher: Square Enix
  • Platforms: PS4, XBO
  • Release: January 29, 2019

Kingdom Hearts III is the next major installment to the Kingdom Hearts franchise. After several years, we’re finally receiving the game in January of 2019 and during E3 2018, we’ve seen plenty of Disney characters who will make an appearance within the game.

Sora and his gang are back as they battle evil and roam the different Disney themed planets. For instance, we know that Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters Inc, Hercules, Toy Story, and Frozen will be present within the game and now that we have an official release date, we can finally see where the story takes us in the coming months.

Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • Developer: Nintendo
  • Publisher: Nintendo
  • Platforms: NS
  • Release: 2019

The Luigi’s Mansion series doesn’t have very many installments attached. Outside of its main debut on the Nintendo GameCube, the series only has one other console installment for the Nintendo 3DS called Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. With the franchise, players are put into the role of Luigi who must bust a variety of ghosts and while we knew that the original installment was soon finding a release again in the market for the Nintendo 3DS, it came as a surprise that a third installment was in the works.

During a September 2018 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed that Luigi’s Mansion 3 is being developed for the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any details as to what this third installment will entail quite yet, but it’s supposedly coming into the market in 2019.

We’re likely going to see some type of Joy-Con motion controller gameplay featured within the game but again, at this point, we’re simply speculating as to what we can expect from the upcoming installment.

Nioh 2

  • Developer: Team Ninja
  • Publisher: Koei Tecmo
  • Platforms: PS4
  • Release: 2019

It was during Sony’s E3 2018 press conference that we got the unveiling of Nioh 2. During the conference, a small trailer showcased the video game which we can expect the over-the-top action RPG elements that were present during the first installment.

Unfortunately, there weren’t any details regarding the game attached to the conference and we’re still waiting for developers to announce what the game narrative will be based around. With that said, we do know that Nioh 2 will be connected to the first installment.

Resident Evil 2
  • Developer: Capcom
  • Publisher: Capcom
  • Platforms: PC, XBO, PS4
  • Release: January 25, 2019

Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise was one of a few video game series that helped paved the road for the survival horror genre. Resident Evil was iconic and much beloved, resulting in remakes and overhauls for releases on later generation consoles.

Resident Evil 2 was announced by Capcom to be in-development for a remake. We waited for a couple years before Capcom unveiled the remake announcement trailer and gameplay footage. Outside of the fantastic visuals in comparison to its original release, there seems to be very little changed. The narrative remains the same along with the enemies you’ll encounter though the developers opted to deliver fans with an over-the-should style camera.
