#10 Anthem
- Developer: BioWare
- Publisher: Electronic Arts
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: 2019
Anthem is an action RPG being developed by BioWare who have brought out Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect franchise.
The game is set in a futuristic world where humanity is safely tucked away behind a closed off wall. What lurks beyond the wall are hostile alien creatures that could prove the end of humanity that lives on this planet.
From what we know so far, players are a freelancer, a member of an organization that explores the world beyond the walls. However, in order to safely maneuver around the world and deal with the monsters that await your arrival, players will step into a specialized suit known as a Javelin, which look pretty similar to the Iron Man suits from the Marvel franchise. We’ve seen some incredible video game titles from BioWare in the past and after their rocky reception of Mass Effect: Andromeda, we’re definitely interested in seeing just how well this title does once it’s finally released.

#8 Dying Light 2
- Developer: Techland
- Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: 2019
Dying Light 2 was unveiled during E3 2018 where we are once again tossed into the zombie apocalyptic world and forced to fight for survival. Players will be in a new city location where factions are at a constant battle to retain control of the area. However, the developers are giving players more freedom as they can choose to go down a variety of pathways though they will all have their own particular consequences.
Just as before, this is an open world game that will allow players to traverse freely. With that said, you’ll have to battle the undead if you choose to leave beyond the city walls. Set fifteen years after the events of the original title, Dying Light 2 will still retain the same hostile zombie creatures though they will continue to be lethargic during the day and more aggressive at night.
#7 Rage 2
- Developer: Avalanche Studios, id Software
- Publishers: Bethesda Softworks
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: 2019
Rage is back with a brand new installment. Rage 2 will toss players into the role of Walker who is the last ranger. It’s your job to survive in this dangerous world after mutants flooded the world thanks to an otherworldly asteroid struck the surface. We also know that thirty years have passed since the events of the first Rage so you can expect to see a few familiar characters.
This is still a brutal FPS with an open world for players to explore, though information is still a bit scarce on the title. However, in past interviews about the game, Tim Willits, id Software a co-developer working on Rage 2, has stated that the developers are revamping the overall game with a better overall story, vehicles, characters and of course weapons.
#6 Doom Eternal
- Developer: id Software
- Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: 2019
After the reboot of Doom, it seems that id Software and Bethesda Softworks are making a brand new installment. The video game will follow the events of the first title where it seems that Hell has arrived on Earth. Doom Guy will once again have to blast away countless demons in order to save humanity from the brink of destruction. We haven’t seen too much gameplay outside of what was revealed during QuakeCon 2018, but from what we saw, it looks like the intense action-packed moments from the Doom reboot is fully present. Gamers can expect to tear through limbs or completely demolishing any demonic force that gets in your way.
Likewise, it appears that there will be a multiplayer component added right into the campaign where players can take the role of a demon and invade another player’s game. However, if you’re not interested in fighting off countless players as you progress through the narrative then this feature can be deactivated.
