Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 20 Tips To Help You Beat World of Light | Spirits Mode Guide

December 12, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

World of Light is a gargantuan new singleplayer mode for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Here’s everything you need to know to win.

#13: Level Up In Exploration Areas – And Select Better Moods!

Found in the purple swamps at the earliest, you’ll be able to unlock an Exploration Area. These are special quests you can send up to four Spirits on — they’ll enter the Exploration Area for two hours, then return with free XP and maybe an item or two. This is a great way to put your un-used spirits to work. You should always have your Spirits going on adventures. Why not?

  • NOTE: When making your selections, you’ll see some Spirits have arrows pointing up on their icons. These Spirits have a better “mood” — they’ll give you much better results than spirits with no arrows.

#14: Unlock The Store To Spend Valuable Spirit Points

Found in the east village area, you can unlock a Store with four daily items. Sometimes they’ll even be discounted! The best part of the store is that it sells Skill Points — normally, for 400 Spirit Points (Gold). This is the only way to “farm” for Skill Points. You’ll also find Snacks and Spirits up for sale. Check back daily to see what’s in stock.

#15: The Dojo / Explore Activities Count Down When The System Is On

As long as your Nintendo Switch system is on, you’ll be able to sit back and wait for the Dojo / Explore adventure to complete. You can turn off your application, or just leave the system on in Sleep Mode. Just remember to jump back in and collect your rewards for a constant stream of easy XP.

#16: Be On The Lookout For Spirits With Immunity (Strong Wind, Poison & More)

The most important Spirits, the ones you absolutely don’t want to lose, have special Immunity skills. For example, Snorlax is resistant to wind. Others have the Franklin Badge, making you immune to fire / lightning damage. Others have poison resistance. The Wind Resistance / Poison Resistance immunities are practically required if you want to complete certain early battles.
