Destiny 2: Forsaken – Last Wish Raid Guide | How To Beat Every Boss & Puzzle Encounter

September 20, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Conquer the new Dreaming City raid with these boss guides and puzzle solutions — here’s how to complete The Last Wish.

Step #3: How To Defeat Morgeth, The Spirekeeper

When you enter another large arena, you’ll find black orbs. Interact to take a Taken orb and a “Taken Strength” counter will appear. Once the encounter begins, more of those orbs will spawn all over the arena — Morgeth, the giant monster, will continuously build up power until it unleashes a team-wipe attack.

  • Collect as many of these orbs as you can. The more orbs there are, the faster the timer will increase.
  • You can only collect x2 orbs. If you collect three, you will die instantly.
  • When you have the “Taken Strength” buff, there is a chance you’ll get caught in a Taken curse attack. You’ll be stuck, and a timer will count down until you die.

To stop the Taken curse attack, you’ll need to collect an Eye of Riven. Kill the shielded Taken Knight to collect the Eye of Riven, and you’ll gain a special grenade attack — use it to remove the Taken curse and free Guardians trapped with the attack.

  • WARNING: Using the “cleanse’ will cause the Eye of Riven holder to absorb the Taken Strength buff. If they already have one buff charge, you may die if you have x3 buffs.

Keep fighting Morgeth, killing enemies, absorbing Taken orbs, and wait until you can collect a special Taken orb that spawns in the center. Grab it (it also gives you x1 buff charge, so send someone with x1) — and the damage phase will begin.

Just keep shooting the growth on its back. It will continue to gain strength. The lower his percentage, the more time you’ll have to shoot him.

To stop the team-wipe and reset the encounter, use your Eye of Riven super attack on Morgeth while in the DPS phase. This will drop his percentage counter to 0%, and let you reach a second or third damage phase.
