We Happy Few: 18 Tips To Help You Escape Wellington Wells | Beginner’s Guide

August 12, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Explore the secrets of Wellington Wells with a few helpful beginner tips. Here are18 things you should probably know before hopping into We Happy Few.

#9: Find The Hatches First

When you arrive in Eel Pie Holm, your first priority should be thus; tracking down all three hatches. Hatches lead into underground command posts you can use — these safe spots always contain a workbench, a chemical station, a bed, a Pneumatic Storage unit, and a fast-travel door. The more hatches you enter, re-power, or fix, the more hatches you’ll be able to fast-travel to.

  • TIP: To find hatches in Eel Pie Holm, look in the distance for cottages with black smoke coming from the chimney. These always mark a hatch location. There are three hatches in Eel Pie Holm alone.

Every hatch contains multiple blueprints. You’ll always find new blueprints on workshop tables or chemical stations. New crafting recipes are insanely useful, and hatches always have a safe bed you can sleep in. Sleeping doesn’t just give you a stamina boost, it also recovers health, and lets you wait until daylight or night time. The more hatches you have unlocked, the easier it is to quickly travel anywhere in Wellington Wells.

#10: Dress For Success

The clothes make the man, and depending on your clothes, you’ll either belong somewhere, or cause an impromptu angry mob to form. In wastrel areas, the poor citizens will attack you on sight if you’re wearing clean clothes. Inversely, the same is true in the civilized area. Clean suits work, but nudity, rags, or rubber won’t do — the good people will attack you.

  • TIP: Don’t know why people are attacking you? Check the status screen to see what is making enemies fight you. It might be that you’re wearing inappropriate clothes.

Some outfits are better than others. For instance, the rubber catsuit becomes especially useful in a particular main mission. The rubber in the suit also makes you invulnerable to lightning-based damage. You can survive electric security blasts without taking any damage, but the people of Wellington Wells hate weirdos. They’ll try to kill you on site if you’re in a catsuit outside the proper venues.
