Sony’s E3 press conference this year was drastically different. Instead of a massive stage and theatrics, they opted to use a smaller building for a more casual experience before transitioning the group to the familiar stage format.
The Last of Us Part 2
A brand new trailer was shown off for The Last of Us Part 2 that showcases Ellie in a town that seems to be thriving along with being in a relationship with an unknown girl at this point. Within the trailer, we also get a transition to some actual gameplay footage of Ellie stealthily taking out a hostile group.
Visually the game is rather stunning as Ellie seamlessly eliminates the hostile enemies, leaps for over, and dashes throughout the in-game world. Luckily for gamers, there appears to be an indicator showcasing if the enemy is able to see your location or if they are about to be attacked.
Crafting is also making a return to The Last of Us Part 2 though it remains to be seen how much has changed in terms of crafting items.Unfortunately there was no sign of Joel during The Last of Us Part 2 trailer.
Ghost of Tsushima
Gameplay footage was shown for Ghost of Tsushima. We got a glimpse into not only the world but also the fast-paced swordplay combat. There also seems to be a focus on properly timing your attacks rather than going into battle with a hack-and-slash mindset.
Much of the game also showcased some of the narrative focus between Jin and a close friend before they turn on each other. Ending the trailer with a brutal battle between the two.
This is not the game’s first reveal as we’ve seen it at Paris Games Week last year, but now we have some gameplay footage showing Jin, one of the last samurai, going against a nearly unstoppable force.
Unfortunately, no release date has been attached to the project quite yet but this will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. We’ll, of course, keep you updated on the very latest.
Control
Remedy’s upcoming video game is called Control which got its first debut at Sony’s E3 press conference. The developers have brought out Alan Wake and Max Payne so we’re immediately interested in seeing more of this game when possible.
From what the trailer showcased, the protagonist is a woman that wields a shape shifting gun as she blasts away enemies. Likewise, the world around her seems to shape and break by her will. This is just the first we’re seeing of this game so you can bet that Remedy will be unveiling more information in the near future.
With that said, the trailer upload from publisher 505 games does state that players will be fighting against an otherworldly threat.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Capcom had revealed that they were working on a Resident Evil 2 remake, much like their remake for the original Resident Evil title. However, there was no gameplay or trailer footage to alongside the announcement. Thankfully during Sony’s E3 press conference that changed with the first remake trailer.
The game will follow Leon S. Kennedy, a cop at Raccoon City when the disease begins to spread causing the town to be overrun by zombies. Currently, the trailer shows off what players can expect when they dive into the streets of Raccoon City. Likewise it seems that the Capcom doesn’t appear to steer away from the overall plot and character appearances that were present when the video game first launched in 1998. We also have an official release date attached to the game. Players will be able to pick up a copy on January 25, 2019.
Trover Saves The Universe
The creator behind Rick and Morty has a brand new video game in the works called Trover Saves The Universe. This is a wacky platformer style video game in which players will be taken to a new universe. We’re not too sure what the narrative will hold just yet though we do know that the game is being developed by Squanch Games.
Trover Saves The Universe will see a release in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and PSVR. For now, take a look at the E3 announcement trailer while we wait for new details regarding the game to be released.
Kingdom Hearts 3
A brand new trailer was unveiled for Kingdom Hearts 3. This is a nice change up as the same trailer for the game was used in both Microsoft’s and Square Enix’s E3 press conference. While there wasn’t too many new exciting details, we did get to see Sora interact with the characters from Pirates of the Caribbean, Hercules, Toy Story, Frozen, Tangled along with Monster’s Inc.
Furthermore, Sony had announced a new limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro Kingdom Hearts 3 bundle. There will also be an all-in-one video game release for Kingdom Hearts 3 combining Kingdom hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2 and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 video games.
Death Stranding
Death Standing received a brand new trailer with some slight gameplay footage. Very few details were released about the game as Kojima Productions is keeping information about their first title a secret. From what we gathered so far thanks to the latest trailer is that players will be controlling the main protagonist who makes deliveries across dangerous lands that are filled with a supernatural enemy.
We’ve seen this enemy before in past trailers. Apparently, within the game, characters must not make any sound otherwise they will be taken by these creatures. However, we now know that these creatures can significantly fast forward time on anything they touch.
Again, we’re still left with a plethora of mysteries such as just when this game will find its way on store shelves. Unfortunately, there was no release date attached to the game yet but we do know that this title will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Nioh 2

Nioh is receiving a sequel after the game was unveiled during Sony’s press conference. We only got a small trailer for the game with no details as to what we can expect from the narrative or if there will be any changes to the gameplay mechanics. As of right now, the game is being developed under Team Ninja.
Spider-Man
Spider-Man was a big hit during Sony’s E3 press conference last year and now we have new video game footage both in a mix of cinematics and gameplay. There still appears to be a beat ’em up style combat along with a few different web-slinging abilities. Within the trailer, it seems that some of Spider-Man’s biggest villains are loose such as Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, My. Negative, and lastly, Vulture.
