BioShock Infinite is the latest game from Irrational Games, which previously developed the critically-acclaimed BioShock, a game which went on to set a standard for modern day storytelling in a video game.
The upcoming title is the third installment in the BioShock series, and is set during the period of American Exceptionalism in the early 20th century. Players take on the role of a former Pinkerton agent named Booker DeWitt, who's dispatched by his employers to find a young woman named Elizabeth, who has been captive on the cloud-bound city for the entirety of her youth. Booker and Elizabeth are forced to flee the city amidst a revolutionary war between the city's two main factions: the elitist and nativist Founders; and the Vox Populi, a group of communists whose interests represent those of the common people. The war between the two factions is somewhat similar to that of the Tea Party and the Occupy Movement, if both were taken to their extremes.
Like previous games in the series, much of the focus in BioShock Infinite will be on its story, and how the player progresses through the game will depend upon the choices he or she makes.
