Zelda: Breath of the Wild – How To Solve All Shrines | Lake Walkthrough

March 27, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

On WiiU & Switch: Crush all the shrines in the Lake Tower region, just southeast from the Great Plateau, with this list of step-by-step solution guides.

  • Ka’o Makagh Shrine
  • Pumaag Nitae Shrine
  • Shoqa Tatone Shrine
  • Ishto Soh Shrine

Shae Katha Shrine – Shae Katha’s Blessing

To find this shrine, Link first needs to find the Spring of Courage and pray at the goddess altar. This mysterious spring is found just southwest of the Dueling Peaks and just north of Dracozu Lake. Praying at the altar will reveal a new shrine quest — bring a dragon scale and drop it into the spring water to reveal a shrine.

This time, you’ll need the scale of Farosh, a lightning dragon that travels a long route from Floria Falls and back to Lake Hylia, where it flies beneath the Bridge of Hylia and into the sky beyond. It dives in the water and re-emerges in both locations, making it pretty tricky to follow. Wait around Floria Falls bridge or the Bridge of Hylia until the dragon appears.

If you can’t spot the dragon, it’s easy to see from afar if Link fast-travels to Faron Tower or Lake Tower. Just look toward the waterfalls / lake to spot the bright neon Farosh. You can also wait at Riola Spring — Farosh will periodically emerge directly from Riola Spring, which is the highest waterfall source in the Floria Falls area.

Farosh is one of the trickier dragons. You’ll need to dodge lighting attacks and land a hit anywhere with an arrow. Watch the bright flash where the arrow impacts and follow it to a landing spot — that’s where you’ll find the scale. It’s very easy to miss, and a single lightning hit can send Link in the water, sabotaging your chances at getting the scale.

Once you’ve got the scale, return to the Spring of Courage and drop Farosh’s Scale into the spring water. That will complete the Shrine Quest and open the door to the Shae Katha Shrine.

Grab the treasure inside and talk to the altar to get your Spirit Orb reward.
