Zelda: Breath of the Wild – How To Solve All Shrines | Lake Walkthrough

March 27, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

On WiiU & Switch: Crush all the shrines in the Lake Tower region, just southeast from the Great Plateau, with this list of step-by-step solution guides.

Pumaag Nitae Shrine – A Minor Test of Strength

Search for this shrine in the Faron Woods forest. Travel south from the Bridge of Hylia to the copse where the path splits south and east. Link can also travel north from the Highland Stable. This is the same forest where Link can find a woman at a camp who shares rumors of a way to revive dead horses.

There’s nothing too special about this shrine. It’s a “Test of Strength” — that means Link will have to best a Guardian Scout. Anti-Guardian Weapons will help, but they aren’t needed against a weaker Guardian like this. Just remember to backflip (dodge backwards) when it swings horizontally, and dodge left / right when it attacks vertically.

Guardian Scouts have three special moves — spin charge, spin beam, and a charge beam. Use the pillar to block the spin charge attack, stunning the Guardian temporarily. When it uses the spin beam, retreat and use the glider to ride the updraft a launch an attack from above.

When it begins the charge beam attack, take cover behind a pillar or use your most powerful weapon to quickly defeat the Guardian before it can launch an attack. Link can protect himself from Guardian beams with an Ancient Shield, if you’ve got one.

Defeat the Guardian and the exit gate will open. Grab the chest and examine the altar to complete this shrine.
