It looks like we’re going to see an Assassin’s Creed TV series release in the near future. The news came out originally last year when reports were made that Ubisoft was in talks with Netflix when it comes to producing a TV series from one of their franchises.
Now it seems that we know that property after a Reddit AMA with Assassin’s Creed head of Content Aymar Azaizia. Aymar spoke of how Ubisoft is working on an Assassin’s Creed TV series in which the franchise head claims that the company is taking their time in order to deliver something they can truly be proud of.
Despite the film Assassin’s Creed not being the biggest blockbuster hit, we’re interested in seeing just how a TV series is adapted. Unfortunately, it’s not known just yet if this series will land on Netflix or not as it wasn’t confirmed.
Instead, Aymar Azaizia states that Ubisoft has been talking with great partners and that the series is in the very early stages.
This is not the only TV series set to launch from a video game. More recently it has been unveiled that a Castlevania animated series would be launching on Netflix. Likewise, we know that there is a Life is Strange series in the works.
Perhaps if creators are unable to deliver a standalone film to represent their game franchise, the next best thing may be a TV series with partnerships between Netflix and the creators themselves.
For now, we’ll have to wait until more information is released regarding the series. Let us know if you’re interested in the Assassin’s Creed TV series within the comments section down below.
