Nintendo has announced that on Tuesday, February 28 at 9 AM PT, they will be holding a special press conference for indie developers who are developing titles for the Switch.
We have learned earlier this year that Nintendo will be releasing about 60 indie titles in 2017. At launch, there will be three eShop indie titles that will be featured for the Nintendo Switch at launch — Fast RMX, Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, and Shovel Night: Treasure Trove.
Recently, we’ve received confirmation that the Switch will not be launching with the Nintendo Virtual console at launch. The news regarding Nintendo’s lack of a Virtual Console for the Switch was showcased on the official Nintendo website in which instead, we’re learning that there will only be three indie titles available from the eShop at launch.
It’s unfortunate that the Virtual Console will not be accessible at the start which would have given gamers a wide back catalog of video games to enjoy on-the-go.
However, Nintendo did state that there will be more information to share at a later point. So there is still hope to see the virtual console make its way to the Switch in the future.
The Switch is set to release next week on March 3rd.
