It recently became known that Nintendo eShop purchases will be tied in to your Nintendo account. But it appears that the accounts themselves will be hardware-bound.
At a recent preview event for 1-2-Switch, YouTuber CrazyDopetastic conducted a Q&A with Nintendo Entertainment planning & development general manager Shinya Takahashi.
“If I were to buy a second Switch for my kids, would I be able to buy games from the eShop once and have them playable not on both systems?”
“Currently we don’t have a system like that in place for Nintendo Switch,” said Takahashi.
“We haven’t made any final decisions about how we would approach that going forward in the future, so unfortunately, I can’t provide any concrete answer for you right now.”
We assume that only one Nintendo eShop account can Ben logged in to one console at a time.
We’ll know more next week, when the Switch is officially released on March 3.
