Infinite Warfare: Rave in the Redwoods – Wonder Crossbow Unlock Guide

January 31, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

On PC, PS4 & Xbox One: The first Wonder Weapon available on ‘Rave in the Redwoods’ is the Crossbow available in the Spawn Lodge. Here’s how to get it.

The first Wonder Weapon you’ll want to collect is the Vlad Crossbow in ‘Rave in the Redwoods‘, the first add-on Zombies map for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Getting the Vlad requires the psychedelic, hallucinatory Rave mode, a whole bunch of sausages, and some severed deer heads. It’ll all make sense in the tutorial below. You’ll also need to turn on the power and reach the Turtle Island area from the Bear Lake boat house. There’s even an convenient zip-line to take you back to the main map for a quick trip back to the Spawn Lodge where the Crossbow cabinet is located.

This is just the first form of the Vlad wonder weapon. As with all the best Wonder Weapons, this crossbow can be upgraded into a variety of forms — and often those new forms are required to solve the main Easter egg.

Wonder Crossbow Unlock Guide

The Wonder Weapon Crossbow can be seen in the Spawn Area right as you start ‘Rave in the Redwoods’ — just look for the locked cabinet in the lodge. Getting rid of the locks requires a few steps, mostly involving sausages and feeding deer heads. Here’s what to do to unlock the Crossbow cabinet.

  • Step #1: Get the Sausages
    • Reach Turtle Island by repairing the boat — check out the ‘How to Unlock the Pack-A-Punch” guide linked above for more details.
    • On Turtle Island, look at the floor in the restroom next to the projector. There’s a bucket of sausages — interact to grab the bucket, giving you an unlimited supply of sausages to throw.
  • Step #2: Feed the Mounted Deer Heads
    • Here’s when things get surreal. When you enter Rave mode, feeding the mounted deer heads brings them to life. Feed and shoot three deer heads in Rave mode, and the Crossbow locks will disappear.
    • When you find a deer head, follow these steps:
      1. Enter Rave mode.
      2. Throw a sausage at the mounted deer.
      3. Shoot the flying mounted deer head.
      4. Collect the rune that appears.
    • There are three mounted deer heads you’ll need to find.
      • Deer Head #1: Spawn Lodge
      • Deer Head #2: Mess Hall
      • Deer Head #3: Camp Owl (Inside a cabin)
  • Step #3: Collect the Crossbow
    • Feed, destroy, and collect all three runes to remove the locks on the Crossbow cabinet in the Spawn Lodge. The Vlad Crossbow shoots explosive-tipped arrows that are pretty powerful.

While the Vlad is a Wonder Weapon, it isn’t as strong as you might expect. That’s where the upgrades come into play. Upgrades turn the Vlad into a devastatingly deadly super-weapon.
