Jeremy Stieglitz, Studio Wildcard’s co-founder (the creators of Ark Survival Evolved) had some reassuring words about the Xbox Scorpio and VR Implementation.
In an interview with Inquistr, Jeremy Stieglitz said that Xbox One Scorpio not only looks to be powerful enough for virtual reality it also makes it look good. He went on to say that his team is currently experimenting with VR for Ark Survival Evolved, but will only start trying to implement VR on the Scorpio once they get their hands on it.
It looks plenty powerful enough (for VR) to support it and have it look really good, it’s just a matter of getting our hands on the console and seeing what we can achieve with it.
For us we’re still very experimental with Virtual Reality in ARK, I do not think the VR support we have now is anywhere near the final implementation.
He also noted that although there is already VR support for it on the oculus rift, they are looking at doing something different for the HTC VIVE
It’s quite basic and is something us to gather feedback to help us work out what to do with it. It’s there for the Oculus Rift and we’re hoping to do something a little different with the Vive.
And whatever Microsoft are doing with The Scorpio is a little further out but it’s definitely going to be on our radar when we get a development unit to start working with.
Xbox One Scorpio is set to launch later this calendar year, with 6 teraflops of computational power it’s the most powerful console to date, and has had many developers attention ever since it was announced. Ark Survival Evolved just like plenty of other games will also support the console
