Mass Effect: Andromeda will not have its framerate or graphics capped on the PC version of the game.

You’ll be happy to know that the upcoming RPG, which is in development at BioWare and slated for a Spring 2017 release, will not be capping its graphics for PC gamers to meet console specifications.

Speaking to creative director Mac Walters, GameInformer found out that the PC version can run at a higher framerate than 30fps, but that other platforms (meaning the Xbox One and PS4) will have their framerates capped to 30fps.

The developer did not confirm whether Andromeda will produce a higher framerate or carry support for the PS4 Pro, which includes support for HDR and 4K. He stated that the studio has yet to decide on making use of those additional features.

Walters also said that the studio cannot confirm that the upcoming game will allow you to import your saves from previous Mass Effect games. Given that the spaceship departs to the Andromeda galaxy before the invasion of the Reapers, there’s little reason as to why it would need to support old save files, in any case.

The developer was unable to confirm whether add-on characters will be released as DLC, as they were in Mass Effect 2 and 3, but said that none of your buddies in the game will be able to die, whatever that means.
