Microsoft's so-called Expert Zone has released an information brochure for retail employees to familiarize themselves with the features and capabilities of 343i's upcoming shooter, Halo 4. While most of the information is publicly available, one of the few bits of new info contained within the infopack are the contents of Halo 4's Spartan Ops.
Halo 4's Spartan Ops is set to span 50 missions per season, with five new missions released each week. Each season will last ten weeks. Each weekly set of missions is introduced with a cinematic video that provides you with a briefing before you embark on the missions provided. Season 1 of Spartan Ops is free, and offers roughly up to 12 hours of gameplay in either single-player or co-op multiplayer mode.
Indeed, it will be possible to play Spartan Ops alone so the game won't force you into multiplayer if you don't want to.
In addition to Spartan Ops, the information pack says that there are 10 new weapons, and 2 new vehicles in addition to weapons and vehicles in previous games.
Finally, Halo 4 will contain clan support, with the ability to create, organize, and track groups of players.
