The newest update to Evolve, as seen by their spree of changes to the game ever since they went free-to-play, is a new co-op mode called “Deepest Dark”. They put a video hyping up this new experience over on their YouTube channel.
However, that clip doesn’t give you the full details of what to expect in this new mode. You and your friends have to stop a monster called the Gorgon Queen, taking it and their eggs down before they hatch. This beast doesn’t eat just NPC controlled fauna either. The Gorgon gets it’s power from eating you. To play this mode, now available in beta, head on over to the Co-op vs. AI section of the matchmaking queue. This update brings a variety of balance changes and tuning too, so reading the patch notes on the game’s Steam page might be worth your time. The developers call this “an experiment,” and want to know if you would like to see more of this kind of content in the game in the future. Don’t be afraid to critique it!
Evolve is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
