Bethesda.net Gets Major Updates For Mods

June 29, 2016 by Habeeb Alaswad

You can finally report stolen mods on Bethesda.net!

Ever since Fallout 4 started getting mods support on the Xbox One, Bethesda.net has had its share of developments and drama, with the biggest one being people stealing mods to post them on Bethesda’s mods hub under their own name. Today, however, we have something positive to report about Bethesda.net. They finally updated their website with some very needed features that would make our console brethren enjoy modding Fallout 4 a little more, and would make the modders life a little easier when dealing with them.

The most interesting update was adding new mod reporting categories that include Piracy/Stolen. That should limit the amount of people stealing mods in the future.

Another needed feature that they added is the custom version number. This will allow modders to  sync the version numbers of the mod in all platforms it’s available on. Also, modders can now moderate their mod comments. Comments can now be flagged by the users and it’s up to the modder to delete any offending comments. You can see a full list of the updates here.

It is worth mentioning that since its inception, Bethesda.net has a total of 4996 mods uploaded to it at the time of writing this article. Compare that the Nexus Mods with their 12.316 Fallout 4 mods and 88.98 million downloads, and you can see a clear picture here. Personally, I don’t think we’ll see modders leaving the Nexus and only post their work on Bethesda.net. Even with the features that were added to it now, Bethesda.net still needs a lot of work to compete with somewhere like the Nexus.

Oh and by the way, the screenshot is from the mod Visible Weapons. You can get it from the Nexus or Bethesda.net. It’s also compatible with Xbox One. Enjoy.
