The same people that brought you the dark and gory The Order: 1886 and God of War have chosen to go a more upbeat route for their next title.
It’s a competitive mutliplayer game where your blob of goo rolls and jumps around a map trying to eliminate their opponents. You can either shoot them with goo, throw them off the arena’s edge, or just smash into them head-on. The spoils of war from slaying your enemies are tiny goo blobs (tribs) that increase your size and refill your ammo. There are also power-ups that appear, giving your goo special abilities that unleash special destructive moves or give your goo other short-timed edges against everyone else.
“It might not be what you expect out of our studio,” Readys at Dawn’s CCO Ru Weerasuriya told Polygon. “I think that’s been the first reaction for everybody who’s laid their eyes on this game.”
De-formers is going to be published by GameTrust, joining Insomniac’s Song of the Deep as some of the first titles from Gamestop’s new publishing wing. They say that the game is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PS4, but there wasn’t any given release date at the time of this initial announcement of the game.
