Fallout 4 is officially getting mod support on May 31, 2016. For PC gamers, this is old news as players had access to countless mods for the video game instantly after launch. However, console gamers tend to get the short end of the stick, when it comes to mod support. That seems to be changing with Fallout 4 and the first console to get showered with mods is the Xbox One according to a livestream event held by Bethesda.
Bethesda announced mod support during the first reveal of Fallout 4, however, it’s taken them until the end of this month before they are able to roll the support out. While both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have mod support, Microsoft will get access first with PlayStation 4 following shortly after sometime next month.

There are a number of mods available for the video game though only a select few are making the jump to consoles first. These first few include mods such as Snap’n Build which gives players more build structures to use within settlements, along with night-vison goggles, and an alien assault rifle.
With that said, there are a few restrictions to mods. For starters, the mods cannot exceed over 2 GB in size. When the mods are activated, your game will automatically start a new save to keep a clean save available at any given time. Furthermore, the mods will prevent the ability to earn any achievements, likewise, any DLC specific mods will require players to own the DLC.
