Teddy Roosevelt will be one of the playable leaders in Firaxis’ upcoming title, Civilization VI. The turn-based strategy game is the latest entry in the studio’s long-running series, which began way back in the early ‘90s.
The news confirms that America will be one of the game’s playable factions alongside India, Russia and China—but that should come as no surprise given that they’ve always been one of the series’ staple factions.
It’s unknown at this point whether Roosevelt will be the only American leader, as previous games featured multiple leaders for each faction. There’s a good chance that figures like Abe Lincoln and George Washington will also make an appearance, but that remains to be confirmed for now.
America, like other factions in the game, will have a few of its unique units that will become available depending on the era. America will get the P-51 Mustang and the Rough Riders cavalry regiment, which Roosevelt himself led during the Spanish-American War. America will also have access to the Film Studio, a unique building.
In a previous interview, Firaxis revealed how the game’s cities will function this time around.
More details are likely to be announced for the Civilization VI as it nears its launch. For now, the video game is slated to release on October 21, 2016 for the PC.
