Mafia fans were treated to a new installment of the beloved franchise this year. It was just last month that we got our hands on the latest release, Mafia: The Old Country. Hangar 13 decided to delve further into the roots of this IP and also course-correct the overall gameplay experience since Mafia 3.
That said, this is still a new release, and there will be a few updates to follow. Just yesterday, we released the first patch update for September, addressing a few issues that the community of players had brought to our attention. If you haven’t already caught up on the news about what was addressed in this latest patch, we’ll provide a breakdown below.
Mafia: The Old Country Patch Notes

As mentioned, Mafia: The Old Country just received the patch update yesterday, September 22, 2025. This patch appears to address several areas of the game. However, as noted in the official patch notes, which can be read here, the focus was on addressing several issues reported by the community.
Currently, the developers are still monitoring the community and implementing feedback as it continues to be sent in by players. We’re not sure when the next patch will arrive, but hopefully, any issues you were dealing with have been fixed as of yesterday. That said, we’ll include the full patch notes as presented officially below.

Again, Mafia: The Old Country was released back in August of this year. Players can pick up a copy of the game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. The game will take players back to 1900s Sicily as you step into the role of Enzo Favara. Escaping the grueling work within the sulfur minds, Enzo decides to join the infamous Torrisi crime family.
This is also not an open-world game, unlike Mafia 3. Instead, the developers opted to provide a more linear gameplay experience. Furthermore, we’re still waiting to see what’s next for this franchise. Rumors have started to circulate online that we might see a sequel. But for now, there’s nothing official to confirm anything is in the works.
