When it comes to spoilers, there are two kinds that truly matter. There are the kinds that “everyone knows because they saw it when it happened,” and then there are those that “will ruin the experience for others because they haven’t experienced the thing yet.” There’s a reason why people do “spoiler warnings” for some posts because they don’t want to be jerks and talk about something that “not everyone is in the know of.” What does this have to do with Donkey Kong Bananza? Simply put, despite the game coming out this Thursday, early copies have somehow gotten into the wild, and that means people haven’t waited one second before posting them online.
One such post was found on Reddit. We advise you NOT to click on that Reddit link and the blacked-out tabs within unless you want to have things ruined for you. We personally didn’t look at the spoilers, so we won’t talk about anything revealed. It is a bit disappointing that some people have done this, as it really doesn’t benefit anyone outside of the person posting, who is all but boasting that “They got the game first, and you all didn’t.”
Donkey Kong Bananza is easily one of the most anticipated games of the year. Yet, the irony with that is the game wasn’t like that at first. We first saw it at the April 2nd Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2, and it closed out the show. Fans were happy that DK was finally getting a new title, but we weren’t really sure what to make of it yet.
However, once the more focused Direct for the game came last month and revealed details about Pauline, the Void Company, the massive world we’ll be in, and more, fans flocked to it and can’t wait to get their hands on it.
There are several key elements that help the game stand out, with the biggest being the destructible environments. Donkey Kong can wreck just about anything. Or, he can take out large chunks of the environment to go and “surf” across it for faster travel or smash enemies with them to do extra damage. Plus, he’ll have a set of special transformations that’ll give him extra strength, speed, and new abilities.
Oh, and there’s Pauline, of course, who will not only be DK’s partner throughout the game, but you can play her via co-op with a friend! The game comes out on the 17th for the Switch 2. Avoid spoilers until it comes out!
