Bend Studio appears to be making a new AAA game that’s not live service, and might not come to PC.
Sony Bend Studio has a new job opening for an audio director. In this listing, they say this:
Sony Bend Studio, renowned creator of Days Gone, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Syphon Filter, is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting our next high-profile AAA console title.
There are two things interesting about this job listing. For one, the listing no longer says it’s for consoles and PC. Bend Studio ported Days Gone themselves to PC, not only on Steam, but DRM-free on GOG. That may be their last PC release.
Last year, Sony cancelled a live service game Bend Studio was working on. We know they had layoffs afterwards, but rumors persist on how severe it was.
But this is overall good news for Bend Studio. It also sounds like we won’t learn about this game for a while, but we may look forward to something coming to the PS6.
