Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Movements System Will Be Similar To Black Ops III

May 13, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

You won’t have to relearn movement mechanics if you played Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

The Call of Duty franchise has a few various developers pumping out installments to the behemoth series. Because of the multitude of developers all dabbling their fingers into the development process for their take on the first-person shooter series, it can be a bit overwhelming for players constantly having to adjust their playstyle to match what the developers had in mind. When it comes to the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the movement system will stay similar to the previous release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Regardless of the fan wars between Call of Duty and Battlefield for their upcoming video game installments to the long-running franchises, there are fans on either side concerned with how their own favorite video game franchise is handling the latest installments. For instance, EA DICE recently held a Twitter Q&A where the developers answered fan questions about the upcoming Battlefield 1. Now fans have started to chime in with developers Infinity Ward about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

One Twitter follower asked Infinity Ward on how they would handle the movement system for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Because Infinite Warfare is also set in the future, the development team will have a movement system that resembles the previous Call of Duty release, Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

@CODINT3L If you’ve played #BlackOps3 before, our take on the chain-based fluid movement system will feel natural to you. #InfiniteWarfare

In particular, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will have a similar chain-based fluid system that combines boosting, sliding, wall-running, and dashing. This will be nice for gamers who have previously played Black Ops III as there will be some sense of continuity for the gameplay mechanics rather than learning everything from scratch once again.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be releasing on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, this November 4, 2016.
