It’s clear that just about everyone is ready for the arrival of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, which comes out on the 11th. We can guess that because the game is already doing incredible numbers on Steam, despite those playing it only being the ones who got certain pre-ordered versions. Regardless, the buzz online is that the title is just about everything fans wanted it to be and more. That being said, we knew from the start via Bandai Namco that the game would be getting certain DLC content in the future. This wasn’t too much of a surprise, as all the past games in the line had gotten DLC as well.
Enter this leaker, who spotted that a new update came out for the game on Steam, and in it, a “Martial Arts Pack” was listed alongside all the other elements of the Ultimate Edition and beyond. That wording is setting off alarm bells for certain fans, as they feel that this could be the theme of the first DLC pack, as there are no other ties to such a pack in the current game. So, what could that mean? What could we get with such a pack?
Well, the easiest answer is that we could get a couple of DLC characters from the various series that are tied to “Martial Arts.” That might seem a bit limited, given that the roster has over 180 characters from pretty much all walks of life, but it’s important to remember that not every character from all the series or films has arrived yet. Just as important, a “Martial Arts Pack” gives the team a lot of leeway on naming alone. After all, every single series has had tournaments tied to martial arts. There’s the legendary World Martial Arts tournament, which was the setting for many key plot points in the original anime, and then you go right up to the Tournament of Power, which brought the multiverse together for a massive brawl.
There are some OG characters that are tied to the World Martial Arts Tournament that haven’t shown up in the game yet, including some “Deep Cuts” that some fans might appreciate, and then by the time you get to the Tournament of Power, there are dozens who haven’t shown up yet. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and Bandai Namco have made it a point to “give the fans what they want,” so this could be another attempt at doing that.
…or…it could just be something like extra outfits. Just Saiyan.
