I’m not sure about you, but I love game documentaries. It’s always fascinating watching the history of these incredible games come to fruition. While we don’t get too many making-of documentaries, the ones that are available can give you some better insight into the choices developers made and where they might have pivoted during production. One of the latest making-of documentaries that has popped up online is the upcoming Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has had quite a lengthy development cycle with its shares of public ups and downs. However, the developers of GSC Game World and Microsoft have put together a film that is over an hour long. This documentary covers the story of this game development and the challenges developers had to deal with. We know the studio is inching its way closer to the finish line, and soon, we’ll get the chance to try this game out for ourselves.
However, until that day comes, you can view the entirety of the Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl documentary for free on YouTube. We’ll embed the video below for you to watch.
If you’ve been following this game for a while, this watch should be interesting. Developers have had quite a few hurdles to deal with in order to bring this game out. We’ve seen attacks on the studio that resulted in the game being leaked. Likewise, because the studio was located in Kyiv, the development team was forced to put the project on hold due to the war Ukraine is currently in with Russia.
Development has since been put back into action due to the team moving into a new office within the Czech Republic. Now, we’re nearing its release, which is set to launch on November 20, 2024. When the game does launch, it will be available for the Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms.
