CD Projekt Red is known for delivering narrative-driven RPG experiences that pull you in for the long haul. You can find some side quests that could land you an endless adventure going through the side content rather than the main campaign. Their latest release was Cyberpunk 2077, and we’re always intrigued to hear about the quests that didn’t quite make the cut.
Cyberpunk 2077 might have had a very rough go when it first launched into the marketplace. But that didn’t stop the developers from pouring resources into fixing the game. Unfortunately, that came at a cost, as there was only one DLC release for the title. While we don’t know what all developers had planned for the game post-launch, we’re finding out about one mission that didn’t make it to the final game as the team opted to scrap it early in production.
CD Projekt Red’s Philipp Weber took to X and commented on a mod for Cyberpunk 2077. One person made a mod that turns the gameplay experience into something more akin to Superhot. If you’re unfamiliar with Superhot, this was a popular FPS game where time essentially only moved when the players moved. As a result, there was time to plan out your attack while also going through the combat experience as if it were a puzzle game.
Philipp Weber noted that the developers had a mission idea with similar mechanics. In this mission, players could become a construct where they would be doing a ton of things while time only moved mere seconds. The workshop idea was scrapped, but a mod is available if you are interested!
That said, we do know that CD Projekt Red is actively working on a few projects. Included is another installment to the Cyberpunk franchise. This game is known only as Project Orion right now, as a new studio location in Boston is bringing the next game to the marketplace. But before that happens, we’ll likely see The Witcher 4 hit the marketplace.
