The PlayStation 5 is in a curious place right now, as it’s currently doing rather well against its direct rival in the Xbox Series X/S, but it’s been struggling in the game department for quite some time. If you want proof of that, just think about the “big games” that have come out for it recently, including a certain “team shooter” that has flopped incredibly hard despite being in development for eight years. Anyway, a new month has dawned, and that means that we are in store for some new chances to enjoy the PS5, and Sony has made that very clear in a special Twitter post!
As you can see below, they have outlined the many games that are coming to the PlayStation 5 in September while also highlighting a PC port that many are eager for. So, let’s break down why you should be excited about some of these titles.
First, there’s Harry Potter Quidditch Champions! This title is all about living out your dreams of flying on a broomstick as a witch or wizard and trying your best to beat every team you come across! You’ll customize your witch or wizard and can even look like certain characters from the iconic series! The better you do in these competitions, the higher up in the world you’ll go, including getting to take part in the Quidditch World Cup! So, are you ready to fly?
The next game we obviously have to talk about is Astro Bot. This title was announced officially at the May State of Play, and it was an instant sensation. In the game, you’ll play as the titular robot and find yourself flying throughout the galaxy and possibly beyond to solve puzzles, defeat bosses, and possibly crossover with certain PlayStation characters. Gamers feel that this could be a title that is just a “pure joy” to play, and that’s definitely something to be excited about.
Finally, how about a pair of PC games that are getting ported from the PS5? First, there’s God of War Ragnarok. Many knew that this would get the PC treatment due to its predecessor getting the tap, but you never know until someone announces something. The title ends the Norse saga for Kratos and Atreus, and the battles to come are some of the fiercest yet!
Finally, while not named on the list, Final Fantasy XVI is finally coming to PC, and it’s fair to say that Square Enix is hoping it sells a lot of units there.
