Japanese Charts: Revelations Takes Top Spot, Vita Hangs Onto Third

February 9, 2012 by Josh Harmon

Soul Calibur V entered the charts in second place.

Resident Evil: Revelations took the top spot on last week's Media Create software sales charts, following a number two debut last week. New releases Soul Calibur V, Photo Girlfriend, and Ragnarok Odyssey nabbed the next three slots, while last week's winner, Armored Core V, slipped to fifth place.

In hardware, the 3DS continued to dominate, once again outselling everything else on the market combined. All platforms saw a slight drop over last week, but the rankings remained unchanged.

That means the Vita, widely perceived to be struggling in Japane, managed to hang onto the third place slot, ahead of the PSP for only the third week since its launch.

Here are the weekly hardware sales figures, with the previous week's sales in parentheses:

1. 3DS: 75,018 (84,789)
