Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Confirms New Characters and Intense Training!

April 30, 2024 by Todd Black

No matter who you are, or what timeline your’e from, there’s always time for training!

One of the beautiful things about the Dragon Ball franchise is that throughout its lifetime, multiple series have shown the passage of time and how many characters have affected one another over the course of those periods. Today, a new trailer for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero arrived, and one thing it focused on was the many “master and apprentice” relationships that have occurred over the years within the series. To that end, it highlighted not only the new characters that’ll be in the game but the training that will happen to get you ready for the fights ahead!

First off was one of the franchise’s most classic “training duos”: Piccolo and young Gohan. When Goku sacrificed himself to help defeat his brother Raditz, Piccolo took the young Gohan under his wing to start his training to defeat the other foes that were coming their way. That bond grew into very much a “father/son” relationship, one that continues to this day as Gohan continues to grow in power while also being a father himself.

The trailer then showed off Master Roshi with two of his students, Yamcha and Krillin. Most people forgot that Krillin trained alongside Goku with Master Roshi when they were younger, as the “turtle hermit” had a style that was known for increasing power and ability far beyond basic martial arts.

Or how about when a much older Gohan trained the daughter of Hercule Satan? That’s right; they started out as training partners before the World Martial Arts Tournament, and then Gohan and Videl fell in love and eventually had Pan.

Even gods need to prove their mettle, as Dragon Ball Sparking Zero also showed Beerus and Whis getting in on the “training” action. After all, Whis canonically is one of the few people who can go toe-to-toe with gods of destruction and even reverse damage via time travel when the need is called upon.

Finally, the trailer went to an alternate timeline, where a version of Future Trunks trains with a Future Gohan, one who has been heavily damaged by the evil Androids that have been plaguing their time. While their fate may be “sealed,” the fight is never truly over.

Practice makes perfect.
