Nintendo seems set to take their European-mandated controllers outside of Europe.

Earlier this year, Nintendo UK announced that they would start replacing their controllers and consoles with new versions that will allow you to replace their batteries. This is to comply with EU regulations that will come into effect next year.
Nintendo Patents Watch shared this interesting insight yesterday:
FCC certifications for the revised Joy-Con 2 have been published. The “label and location” exhibits (imgs 1-3) suggest that the new Joy-Cons probably will be bundled with the regular Switch 2 (not the EU version) in the North America. They might even replace the previous Joy-Con 2 globally?
Nintendo Patents Watch found earlier evidence that the Switch Online GameCube and N64 controllers would also be sold outside Europe. Since yesterday, they found FCC filings for a new Switch 2 Pro Controller and GameCube controller.
Maybe Nintendo will also sell new Switch 2 consoles with replaceable batteries or maybe not. But this development may be ultimately better for Nintendo too, as fans can extend the durability and long-term use of these controllers.
