Best Buy is once again bringing back a gaming tradition, as only Nintendo can make possible.

Nintendo revealed last September that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is releasing on the Switch 2 this November 5, 2026. On the same date, Nintendo will be selling their The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console and Switch 2 Pro Controller.
Since that announcement though, pre-orders for the 40th anniversary console and controller have run out.
And so, Best Buy just announced that they would be holding midnight launches across their stores for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. Subsequently, they revealed that they will have stocks of the 40th anniversary console and controller for these midnight launches as well.
And yes, if you already have a pre-order with Best Buy, you can make arrangements to pick up your orders in this midnight launch, in the Best Buy you go to on that day.
As we know, some video game companies won’t be making physical games in the future, so they wouldn’t have midnight launches at retailers anymore either. Perhaps it’s fitting that Nintendo is the caretaker of these video game traditions.
