Starfield is easily one of the biggest and most anticipated video game titles launching this year. It’s also a big game for Microsoft, which could use a new exclusive that will incentivize players to pick up an Xbox Series X/S console platform. After all, the last big hyped-up exclusive fans were waiting on from Microsoft was Redfall, and that didn’t turn out very well. At any rate, it’s clear that fans are excited about Starfield, and as we approach its release date next week, others are getting a chance to dive into this game later this week.
This Starfield video game has been hyped and teased for years. Long before Microsoft had acquired ZeniMax Media, Bethesda teased Starfield, which would be their first new RPG in quite a long time. Now that they are under the control of Microsoft, these big RPG fans were waiting on will be available only to those on PC or Xbox Series X/S. Those of you who are keen on picking this game up as soon as possible might have taken the initiative and grabbed a copy with early access.
With early access, players could start going through this game as early as August 31, 2023, for those located on the East Coast of America. That’s just under a week when everyone else will get the standard game copy or access through Xbox Game Pass. But if you don’t know how to obtain early access, we have you covered. Essentially, to gain early access, you just need either of the two more premium editions of the game. Those cost a bit more than the standard edition, but it’ll come with some extra goodies, including those five extra Starfield days before everyone else jumps in.
So, if you went ahead already and obtained a Premium Edition or the Constellation Edition of Starfield, you’re all set. Otherwise, you’ll need to wait for the official launch date, which is September 6, 2023. Of course, while the floodgates will open up in three days for Starfield content online, it’s already a game rather heavily leaked. Since Bethesda gave copies of the game to media outlets and online personalities two weeks ahead of launch, the game has managed to find images and footage surfacing online for others to enjoy.
Those bits of footage have been taken down rather quickly by Bethesda and Microsoft. However, we’ll see plenty of gameplay and streams going up in just a couple of days. That might help showcase whether this game is worth the purchase or not if you’ve been on the fence.
