Where you worried that Tekken 7 Fated Retribution would be a PlayStation 4 exclusive? Now is your chance to broaden the game’s reach.
Bandai Namco has launched a new survey asking fans if they want Tekken 7 Fated Retribution on PC. This is hardly a confirmation, but it does indicate that Bandai Namco is willing to bring it to the platform if there is sufficient interest. If you want to finally play Tekken on PC, you can answer the survey yourself here.
This is merely the latest act in a long-running drama to finally bring the franchise to PC. Tekken is inextricably connected to the PlayStation, with the first game in the franchise being one of the console’s first and most memorable games. Every Tekken game until now has also been natively coded with PlayStation tools, even on PlayStation hardware. However, Bandai Namco shocked fans when they announced they switched engines from PlayStation Native to Unreal with Tekken 7. Harada talked up the ease of using the engine, implying they would take advantage of its ability to be ported easily to multiple platforms. It was enough, in fact, to convince me they intended to make a PC port.
An Unreal presentation in March 2015 that featured Tekken 7 implied that the game was going to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, this October, Tekken 7 was announced as a title for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR. No other platforms have been confirmed then or since, but Harada has maintained, even in December, that he is aware fans want Tekken 7 on PC.
