Minecraft: Story Mode released back in October of 2015 and since then there have been four episodes released out of five for the season pass. Since the last episode released on December 22, 2015, we’ve been waiting patiently for the announcement of the fifth episode launch date. Today, through a Mojang blog post, we got that desired announcement along with a reveal of an additional three episodes being released at some point this year.
The Minecraft: Story Mode video game is an episodic interactive comedy-drama graphic adventure by development team Telltale Games. The overall story of Minecraft: Story Mode follows a group of friends with the centered focus being Jesse, who are tasked with defeating the Witherstorm. Since the fourth episode release, Mojang has announced that the fifth episode will have players venturing out to a special land known as Sky City, in what is described to be an awe-inspiring land with beauty that will come at a price.
However, what that price may be and what Jesse will unfold within the Sky City remains to be seen. This fifth episode is set to launch on March 29, 2016, for the Xbox One, Windows 10, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS, and lastly Android-based devices.
Though the most interesting aspect of the Mojang blog post is that we’re given news of three more episodes releasing at some point this year. According to the post, these three episodes are connected to the existing season pass and must be purchased separately. For now, there are no details on what these three episodes will be based about, but they are described to be a slightly different flavor compared to the previous season.
