Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s latest map, Nuk3town, is now available for free for all players of Treyarch’s shooter on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
In a press release, the publisher described the map as “a 2065 re-imagining of the classic run-and-gun fan-favorite Treyarch map, designed to highlight Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s momentum-based, chained-movement system.” The above trailer should give you some idea of what to expect.
A Nuk3town Personalization Pack is also available for free as well and offers the following:
- NUK3TOWN themed Weapon Camo
- Three NUK3TOWN themed weapon reticles
- NUK3TOWNthemed calling card
The map has also been added to the main map rotation across a number of playlists. To celebrate the map’s public release, Treyarch is launching a 24/7 playlist for the next week which only features Nuk3town.
Nuketown first made an appearance in 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops and returned in 2012 as Nuketown 2025 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The map was also featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified where it was known as Nukehouse.
Nuk3town is a far more colourful version than what’s come before, not least because of its setting in 2065.
Call of Duty publisher Activision has announced that this year’s entry in the long-running franchise will be developed by Infinity Ward. Activision has described the game as “innovative” but nothing is currently known about it. It may be a sequel to 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts, Infinity Ward’s last game, or it might be an all-new sub-series.
We’ll likely learn more about the game in May.
