Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 4’s first DLC, Automatron, will be released on March 22nd for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The DLC will cost $9.99 in North America and is also included in the game’s season pass.
Automatron sees players trek across the Commonwealth hunting down the evil robot warriors of the enigmatic Mechanist. As you wreak havoc on the robots, you can harvest parts from them to create and mod your own custom robot companions. Hundreds of mods are available and allow you to mix armour, limbs, and abilities. There are also new weapons such as the lightning chain gun and you have the option to mod their voices and paint schemes as well.
Automatron is playable for all characters who have reached at least level 15.
In April, Bethesda will release the Wasteland Workshop DLC, which significantly expands the options open to players when it comes to customising settlements. This will be followed in May by Far Harbor, the largest landmass Bethesda has ever created for a DLC. That pack will see players leave the Commonwealth behind and travel north to Maine.
Additional content packs are planned for Fallout 4 but Bethesda has yet to provide details on what those will be. At the start of this month, the price of the game’s season pass increased from $29.99 to $49.99 to account for the scale of Far Harbor and other DLC packs in future.
Bethesda will be hosting its second ever E3 press conference in June this year and we may learn about the company’s plans to extend your Fallout 4 adventure then.
