Hogwarts Legacy has been one of the more anticipated video games to be released this year. The video game is getting ready for its grand release, and as a result, the development team over at Avalanche Software has ramped up its marketing materials. Today, a brand new cinematic trailer has been released for the game, which offers players some insight into this magical journey they’ll be embarking on. Check out that footage in the video we have embedded above.
Within Hogwarts Legacy, players will step foot into the mystical world of Harry Potter. But this game won’t be set directly in the same time period as the books or cinematic movie experiences. Instead, players are taking the role of a new student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the late 1800s. Receiving an acceptance letter from the school well past the usual, players will jump straight into the fifth year of Hogwarts. It turns out our protagonist holds some ancient secret magic that will play a role in trying to stop those attempting to harness this power.
Of course, if you’re a fan of the Harry Potter franchise, you’ll get to experience several aspects that make this world thrilling. Players will go to different classes, learn spells, aid mythical creatures, and explore the school grounds along with different areas outside it. There are also plenty of quests to take on, which may differ between the four houses. Fortunately, we already know that the game will have four character slots and multiple save options. This way, if you want to experience all of the different houses, you won’t be forced into sacrificing a previous game save.
With all that said, we’re still enduring a slight wait for this game. As it stands, Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch on February 10, 2023. When the game does release, players will find it available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Although, we do know that other platform versions are coming out into the marketplace. On April 4, 2023, players will find the game available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, those of you on Nintendo Switch will have to wait until July 25, 2023, before the game drops. While we wait for the game to hit the marketplace, check out the latest cinematic trailer in the video embedded above.
