This week the beta for Blizzard’s upcoming squad-based first person shooter Overwatch was subject to another update, and the latest patch notes issued in the forums detail the changes coming with it.
In addition to bug fixes and balance adjustments, the most notable new content includes a map called Ilios, a Mediterranean town situated at the top of an island in the Aagean Seas that promises artifacts to gain and ruins to explore. Players will also find that this update will completely reset Career Profiles, wiping out all previous personal best scores. However, it will not affect matchmaking, player levels, progression, or rewards.
Blizzard also lists the more minor changes coming to the maps, play modes, and progression rewards. Health pack placement has been adjusted across all maps, so if you’ve memorized their locations, be prepared for an upset. There are new signature, cheer, and taunt emote rewards available for all the game’s heroes, as well as new Legendary skins and themes for several others. Difficulty modes in Player vs A.I. mode are now an option (Easy, Medium, Hard) and custom games also have some new options and refinements. The full list can be seen over in the Battlenet forums. However as they note not all of the fixes may be mentioned or fully detailed.
As recently leaked through an IGN ad campaign, Overwatch will debut world wide on May 24, 2016, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more on the game be sure to hit up the Gameranx site tag to catch up on all the latest posts and stories.
