It’s been a troubling few months for Bioware. First, in December, Chris Wynn, senior development director for Mass Effect: Andromeda, announced he would be leaving the company, citing no reason for his departure. Then, in February, Andromeda lead writer Chris Schlerf announced he was leaving the project and the company to transition over to Bungie’s Destiny.
Cameron Harris, senior editor on Mass Effect: Andromeda, marks the third major departure from the studio this year. Harris made the announcement publicly over Twitter on March 4.

Harris’ credits at the acclaimed studio include Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Particularly noteworthy about Harris’ announcement is that she isn’t just leaving Bioware – she seems to be departing the game industry completely.
Harris is something of an industry veteran, working for Bioware and also completing projects for Nintendo and ArenaNet. She also gave a talk at the 2014 Game Developer’s Conference on the importance of having an editor for your projects. The video was just released from the GDC Vault, and you can watch it here. It’s really good.
Despite the string of recent high-level departures from Bioware in general and the Mass Effect: Andromeda team in particular, there have been no indications from Bioware itself that the game’s development cycle will be jeopardized.
Harris didn’t indicate which opportunities she would be pursuing post-game industry, but she did indicate she’d be returning to Seattle.
