There have been a few iterations of Assassin’s Creed on the mobile platform but today we’re getting a new international release for the Apple iOS. The game is known as Assassin’s Creed: Identity which takes the same elements we’re used to seeing from the main releases on console and tosses them on the mobile platform. Although, if you’re familiar with the title, it’s likely because Assassin’s Creed: Identity released back in 2014 as a soft-launch within select countries. However, last month the video game vanished from from the marketplace not to be see again. That is until today with Ubisoft’s full international launch of the mobile game.
Starting today, everyone is able to enjoy Assassin’s Creed: Identity in full on their iPhones and iPads. This time around in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Ubisoft takes players into Florence and Rome during the Renaissance. Players are able to create and customize their very own assassin with the option to choose from four main classes including the Berserker, Shadow Blade, Trickster, and Thief. Each class ultimately comes with their own unique attributes such as being able to disguise themselves within crowds or place hidden explosives. Overall, the missions players are tasked with mainly include seeking out a gang known as the Crows along with the First Civilization.
Using the Unity engine, Assassin’s Creed: Identity offers HD textures, models, shaders, and a dynamic crowd system. Controls can be tweaked to allow players the use a tap-to-move system, dual virtual stick controls, or gamepad support. As for now, there’s no indication on if the game will release on the Android platform but those who are using an iOS device can purchase the title right now for $4.99.
