If you’re unfamiliar, GigaBash is a fighting game on a large scale. Specifically, it’s a fighting game where you play as monsters or monster-fighting robots in a city and try to either save the world or destroy it. Each beast, known as the Titans and robot, has a backstory that you can learn as you play through the game. Then, you can dive into multiplayer matches that can be 1v1, 2v2, or a free-for-all. It’s all about mixing styles while also having a blast wrecking a city in the name of peace and destruction. What surprised many recently was the announcement of Godzilla entering the fray.
It’s true, on December 9th, the “King of the Monsters” will arrive in the game, but today, new information about his debut came. On Steam, the official page for the GigaBash DLC emerged, and in it was the following information:
“The ultimate kaiju crossover is here! The Godzilla DLC adds 4 new playable characters from the Godzilla universe, each with its own iconic abilities and unique movesets.”
That’s very enlightening, as we only knew about Godzilla himself arriving in the game. Many would say that his coming is “enough” for the title, but clearly, they wanted more and got more. While we have yet to find out who the other three kaiju are within the DLC pack, we can make some guesses based on the popular entities within the franchise.
For example, given that the game is about monsters fighting mechs at times, it seems fair to think that one of the three main versions of MechaGodzilla will emerge. After all, humans created it to defeat Godzilla, including in the latest American film in the franchise. The other obvious choice is King Ghidorah, who is often hailed as the ultimate rival to Godzilla. The three-headed dragon beast would be perfect for a game like this and offer different attack options thanks to its multiple heads.
The final entry we suspect will be in the game is Mothra, aka the “Queen of the Monsters.” She’s been around for decades and played significant roles within the series. Other options include Rodan or some lesser beings who still need to get their time to shine. We could even get King Kong!
Either way, fans of GigaBash are in for a treat with this DLC. Because they are not only getting the atomic breath blasting lizard of the depths, they’re getting three of his greatest rivals alongside him, which will lead to many intense matches.
