Capcom has revealed that Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen is their fastest selling title on PC.
Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen released on January 15 on Steam, and is an enhanced version of the original Dragon’s Dogma, which originally came out in 2012, also for PC. This original version was also released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Capcom took note of the fact that the console release launched higher, and attributed this to the marketing push they gave it in 2013. As of right now, it is one of Capcom’s top three PC games, along with Resident Evil and Dead Rising 3.
Marketing director Antoine Molant shared this statement:
We are extremely pleased with the performance of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. It is our fastest-selling PC title to date, thanks to an audience eagerly waiting for it, and us delivering to the level of quality gamers were expecting
Capcom currently has fourteen titles on Steam, which represents a fraction of the titles they have released on consoles. Perhaps this encouraging performance could mean they will bring even more games over from consoles in the near future.
Speaking of Steam, Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen also happens to be part of the Lunar Steam sale. Buy it now and you can get the Official Design Works art book free.
